On August 22, 2010 ALEXANDER G. GRANBERG, Leontief Medal Laureate For Contribution to Economic Reforms, Academician, member of several foreign academies, State Prize Laureate, Laureate of prestigious international and Russian awards for scientific achievements in the field of economics, Member of Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Chairman of the Council for the Study of Productive Resources (SOPS), a distinguished Russian scientist died at 75.
ICSER Leontief Center pays respects to direction and team of Council for Studies of Productive Resources, relatives and friends of Alexander G. Granberg.  

We knew well and loved Alexander Grigorievich Granberg, appreciate his contribution to the research and development of the Russian economy and development of higher economic education in Russia. He was an elder and a true leader of Russian scientists, regionalist venerated, respected and loved by colleagues and students.

We will preserve in memory his charm, tact, intelligence, warm-heartedness. For many of us he was and will remain a model of bright, talented, cheerful scientist and man, the bearer of the best traditions of Russian science.
